Deep in the heart of the Hirajuku District lies this awesome gallery called “The _____ Gallery“. They just had their grand opening exhibition which features artwork by many great artists, including Clint Wilson. I am humbled and super excited to be a part of this show. GWも終わり、THE _____ GALLERY (THE blank GALLERY) の記念すべきオープニングエキシビションも折り返しとなりました。
今回はsection two : FLAT-O-RAMAの模様をお伝えします。こちらに展示してあるのは、海外から集めたシルクスクリーンプリント作品。アートプリントやギグポスターなど、他ではまず見られない珍しい作品が多数展示してあります。一枚一枚手刷りで印刷され、アーティストのサインとナンバーが手書きで記された作品は、やはり機械で大量印刷されたポスターとは風合いも貫禄も違います。日本では馴染みの薄いギグポスターも、その魅力に気づいてしまうと、どっぷりとハマッてしまう危険性大です。
